Effective Paint Colors Selection For Small Rooms

Small rooms can appear larger by doing some tricks to it.  There are varieties of colors that we can choose from but if the objective is to make a  small room appear bigger, light or pastel colors will do the trick.

Light colors or shades create an illusion that you are farther away from your current location thus they make a space between you and your actual place.  Light colors can also divert your attention into several corners of your room.  Since you will not be focusing on a certain area, your eyes will roam around the room making you feel that the area is very spacious.  Examples of light or cool colors are the shade of green, blue, purple, cream, beige, etc.  These colors are cool to the eyes.  They give off relaxing and vibrant feel to a place.  You may also use pastel shades of the mentioned colors.  They can make your room appear cleaner and at the same time, relaxing.  Light shades are very relaxing to the eye; they can be compared to the environmental sceneries like the sea or sky (blue), trees (green), etc.

If you are obtaining an illusion of a larger space and simplicity, using monochromatic colors is the best for you.  Monochromes are associated with dullness but with additional tricks, you can spice up your room with these colors. Choose shades that are closely related to your ceiling and/or your floor.  Neutral colors will give you a relaxing and a well organized room.  Painting your walls pure white is also another option.  They immediately light up your place; however, regular maintenance like cleaning is required. In contrast to the light colors, we also have the warm colors.  These are the colors that are striking to the eyes.  Such colors are red, orange, yellow, etc.  They are called warm colors as they are associated with heat and fire. These colors make your room appear smaller but on the other hand, they can make your room warm thus giving it a comfortable feel.

Whether you choose light or warm colors for your room, keep in mind that well lit and neat space will also do wonders in making your room appear pleasant to the eyes.

Painting an Apartment Building In Singapore

Investing in a property is a good thing especially these days when money is much needed.  If you own a house and have turned it into an apartment, you have invested in a property that generates income for you.

What are the things that you do to keep you income generating property rolling?  The best answer to that question is maintenance.  One of the things that you can do to keep your apartment in a good shape is by painting and repainting the walls as much as needed.  You may think that by painting it yourself will save you a lot of money, think again.  For all you know, you might just be putting your property in jeopardy.

First thing you need to do is to examine your property.  Look for signs that say “the apartment is old”, “it is not very pretty look at anymore” or even--- “it is not safe to live here anymore”.  These signs could come in the form of blisters, holes, nick or cracks on the edges of the wall.  Once you see these signs, be alarmed.  It is time to take action.  Painting over the damages won’t do the trick.  You need to hire a professional who can actually repair them for you.

Keeping the walls of your apartment clean should not be a very hard task.  One option is to climb a ladder, scrape and sand the wall and then wash the peeled paints with a long brush and a hose. If you don’t have time to do the cleaning yourself, you can hire a pressure washing service-company to clean your walls for you.  This is a good idea especially if you own a multi-floor apartment.

If you hire a paint contractor, make sure that you hire someone who knows what they are doing.  If you are going to use lead paints, make sure that you and your paint contractors are aware of the “The Renovation, Repair and Painting” rule.  This is a rule that has been implemented in 2010 by the EPA or the Environmental Protection Agency.   This rule obliges homeowners, apartment landlords, renovators and paint contractor to practice safe work etiquettes.  This may include the correct way of demolition (if needed), sanding, scraping, and repairing of the property before applying a lead paint.  The said law is applicable to properties built before the year 1978 and houses that have children living on it.

Because of the ERP law, many homeowners and apartment managers turn to a professional paint contractor.  Not only to abide by the law, hiring professional contractors will also produce a very satisfying end product.
Before you start with the painting job, make sure that the tenants are advised prior to taking action.  Inconvenience in any form is not a healthy sign in business.  Make an effort to reduce the noise and smell whenever you have plenty of tenants aboard.  To avoid having these adjustments, it is better to paint your apartment walls before you let somebody moves in.
